Moldflow Trainings

Our trainings lasting several days form the base of your individual Moldflow expertise. Here you will learn the basics of the software and the injection moulding process. Thanks to the structured approaches being taught, you will be efficient in handling and operating the corresponding expansion stage of your Moldflow product and be confident in interpreting Moldflow results correctly. We provide all trainings online and in our training center in Darmstadt.

Content: Day 1: Shrinkage and warpage.

  • Differentiation of shrinkage and warpage, influence of design, types of warpage analysis, causes of warpage, optimization possibilities, punching, shrinkage compensation

Day 2+3: Cooling

  • Types of cooling calculation methods, consideration of tool inserts, modeling of cooling systems, near-contour cooling, variothermal processes

Day 4: Hybrid

  • 2K injection molding & cooling, insert overmolding, core offset calculation

Day 5: Statistical Design of Experiments (DoE)

  • Fundamentals, design of experiments of process parameters and geometry features in Moldflow, simulation examples, results and interpretation, application limits of simulation.

  • Modeling guidelines, process control, blow-up vs. blow-off methods, positioning of gas injection points and outlet valves, interpretation of results, influence of fiber-filled materials

Day 2: ICM and CM

  • Modeling guidelines and process control, simulation examples, possibilities and application limits, defining preforms, influence of directional properties

Day 3: Thermoplastic foam injection molding

  • Theoretical background and technical requirements in practice, modeling guidelines and process control in Moldflow, numerical models, differences MuCell vs. CBA, core back technology, simulation examples, possibilities and limits of application

Day 4: Material

  • Material data in Moldflow, measurement methods, influences on material data, parameter influences, benefits of advanced material characterization, fiber orientation and shrinkage models

Day 5: Reactive Molding

  • Material properties, process control, transfer compression molding, influence of heating cartridges, theoretical background, simulation examples, interpretation of results, insert offset
